As a geriatric scholar, I have had the opportunity to have had two different field placements within the aging concentration, and each placement exposed me to the unique psychosocial challenges that are present within the continuum of care impacting many older adults and their families. My time in field has greatly enhanced my personal and professional development, and has given me the tools necessary to be competent in practice. My field experience has enabled me to network with other professionals in the field of gerontology while affirming my commitment to social justice on behalf of the aged population.
