Kristin S. Scherrer, MSW, MA, is a PhD candidate in Sociology and Social Work at the University of Michigan. Her research interests include the construction of sexual identities, asexuality, bisexuality, gender, families, intergenerational relationships, aging and the life course. She has current and forthcoming publications on these topics in peer reviewed journals, (Sexualities, Sexuality Research and Social Policy, The Journal of GLBT Family Studies, The Journal of Gay and Lesbian Social Services, and The Journal of Family Issues). Her dissertation focuses on understanding grandparent-LGBQ grandchild relationships. Ms. Scherrer has worked with LGBTQ individuals and their families through the Ruth Ellis Center and the Spectrum Center.
