Athena Kolbe, MSW ’06, is doctoral candidate in Social Work and Political Science focusing on individual and group level interventions to reduce violence in post-conflict Haiti. In additional to home-based mental health treatment with children and youth in Detroit, Athena has served as a social worker and researcher in the Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Africa. She holds master’s degrees in Political Science, Social Work (Interpersonal Practice), and Theology.
