Background: In July of 2022, the statewide Juvenile Justice Task Force reported that Michigan has numerous data gaps and challenges at the county and state levels that limit robust data analysis of juvenile justice placement data. One of the identified gaps is that Michigan lacks a centralized bed management system for residential and detention facilities. This initiative aims to improve data accessibility and decision-making for juvenile justice stakeholders across Michigan.
Key Objectives:
· Centralize bed availability and facility demographic data.
· Provide an interactive map for efficient facility selection.
· Reduce inquiry burdens on facilities.
· To assist with creating more congruent alignment between youth risk and needs and facilities’ service array. Thom - Aligning what services are available at the facility.
