The MICEAL partnership brings together multiple teams and centers, involving academic and community partners, that have a long history of establishing, maintaining and sustaining trusted, equitable relationships in the conduct of community-engaged research and outreach. These entities have been actively involved in efforts within the four counties most directly engaged (Genesee, Kent, Washtenaw, Wayne) as well as across the state of Michigan through statewide networks and activities. We will continue to engage the MICEAL Community-Academic Steering Committee composed primarily of the same members, as we pivot our partnership’s sole focus from solely on the COVID-19 pandemic, to conduct interventions aimed at promoting health equity, improving health outcomes, and strengthening community partnerships through community-engaged research to address racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic health disparities
