Directed by Dr. Theresa Betancourt, the Research Program on Children and Adversity (RPCA) lab focuses on observational research to understand trajectories of risk and resilience in children facing multiple forms of adversity while also using these research outcomes to develop and test evidence-based interventions to promote child health, development and family functioning.
The Associate Director for Research plays a vital role in overseeing research, operations, and development of the RPCA. This role is integral to the current and future research initiatives of the RPCA and contributes to the greater University mission of expanding Boston College’s global research footprint. The Associate Director of Research will need to operate on a highly independent level overseeing research in several countries, including managing several local and Boston based program managers, consultants, and research assistants. The Associate Director will need to be able to problem solve and make strategic decisions so that research in low resource countries is effective and compliant with all governing regulations and will also need to have cultural competencies to ensure that research projects are culturally appropriate.
Pay Range: $94,600-$118,250
Qualifications include: Masters in Public Health Social Work, Psychology, or other related field ; Experience implementing NIH research required; experience in research program management or research coordination in the mental health, child development, implementation science, or public health field; experience in budget management; experience conducting research to include: research conceptualization, development, and implementation.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of study implementation in field (20%), supervise research and data collection (20%), promote and coordinate research development (50%), oversee lab activities (10%).
