Therapist (LLMSW/LMSW) – Independent Contractor Position Overview
Solace Counseling is a small independent group practice that has been in business for 16 years and we continue to grow.
Location: In-Person on west side of Grand Rapids, MI. Some telehealth work but more and more people are wanting in person.
Commitment: Minimum of an average of 25 clients per week
Overview:
Our growing counseling practice is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and LGBTQIA+ affirming Therapist (LLMSW/LMSW) to join our team as an independent contractor. We specialize in providing high-quality, client-centered care to children, adults and couples of diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a minimum caseload of 25 clients per week, with at least 50% of the caseload dedicated to children.
Provide individual and/or couples therapy using evidence-based practices.
Document clinical progress and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Participate in monthly team collaborative calls/meetings (remote) and weekly in-person meetings for LLMSW’s.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social work (MSW) and licensed as an LLMSW or Clinical LMSW in the state of Michigan.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in case management or a mental health-related role (graduate-level MSW internship experience considered).
TF-CBT and CPT training are preferred.
Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.
Ability to work both remotely and in person, based on the west side of Grand Rapids, MI area.
Must carry professional liability insurance.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including TF-CBT, CBT, Mindfulness.
Additional preferred interest or skillset in approaches include ACT, Attachment, Psychodynamic, Existential, IFS, EMDR
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Able to work independently on a daily basis.
