Graduation does not mark the end of your time with SSW.  The Alumni Office provides a variety of opportunities that will enable you to remain connected with the school in a way that is personally meaningful to you.

Student Spotlight

  • Stephanie Gray Chang

    In 2005, Stephanie graduated with a degree in Psychology and Asian/Pacific Islander American (APIA) Studies from U-M. She worked for five years with the Michigan Campaign for Justice, an advocacy organization working toward improvements of Michigan's public defense representation system.

    Through APIA Studies and involvement with the Detroit Asian Youth Project Stephanie had the privilege of meeting Grace Lee Boggs, a 96-year-old veteran activist who is redefining what revolution means in the Motor City.

  • Aaron McNeece, MSW '71, PhD '76

    Aaron McNeece loved his time at the University of Michigan where he spent five years while earning his MSW (1971), and completing his PhD (1976).

    “Once I completed a draft of my dissertation, we headed south as soon as we could,” McNeece explained.  “We’re from the south and we were ready to return to our roots.  We never got used to those long Michigan winters, especially with two housebound toddlers.  I defended the dissertation a year later.”
