Please join us to celebrate and reflect on the life and vision of Dr. Armand Laufer, professor emeritus at the University of Michigan School of Social Work and founder of Project STaR, precursor to the Drachler Program, and later the Jewish Communal Leadership Program at the University of Michigan.
Marking a month (shloshim) following his death on July 28, colleagues and friends of Armand will share reflections on Armand’s career, contributions, and menschlichkeit (warm humanity). In addition, in testament to Armand’s deep commitment to studying, building, and sustaining community, the gathering will include interactive small group conversations reflecting on the current status and outlook for building and sustaining American and Jewish communal possibility today.
All community members are welcome. This gathering will include current students in the Jewish Communal Leadership as they mark the beginning of the 2023-24 academic year and will serve in lieu of JCLP’s annual community welcome breakfast. Refreshments will be served.
