Gregory Harden

Greg Harden worked at the University of Michigan Athletic Department for 24 years, finishing his tenure as the Executive Associate Athletic Director, Student Athlete Health & Welfare. Harden has been affiliated with the University of Michigan Athletic Department since 1986 when he began working with the Athletic Department as a Staff Consultant and student athlete personal development program counselor.

Harden provides individual student athletes with personal support and adult learning opportunities for their teams. Coaches, sport administrators and university personnel rely on his knowledge and expertise in responding to the needs of students involved in athletics.

On March 5, 2014, Greg was featured on a segment of 60 Minutes Sports where correspondent James Brown profiled “Michigan’s Secret Weapon” and the impact Greg has on the student-athletes who seek him.

Through his involvement, Greg has been instrumental in aiding the Athletic Department in the design and implementation of the student and staff development strategies. His collaborative style and efforts have helped to strengthen the Athletic Department’s connection with the larger university community.

Besides sports, Harden has provided performance coaching to corporate executives and community leaders. He has trained hundreds of managers and administrators on ‘managing trouble employees’.

Harden officially retired from the University in 2019, but remains a consultant for the Athletic Department. He is President of Power One Performance, Inc. a subsidiary of GSHarden and Associates, providing performance coaching to corporate executives, professional athletes, and community leaders. He was President of Unlimited Access Educational Services (UAES), a non-profit organization. He has also served as Senior Vice-President of Associated Consultation and Training, Inc. (ACT) and Executive Director of Leaders in Prevention.
