Nancy Mason has been a faculty member at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy for over 20 years. Prior to her current role as associate dean, she served as director of Experiential Training and Community Engagement. Mason’s primary teaching interests and responsibilities focus on the development of pharmaceutical care skills, experiential learning, and interprofessional education. Her service-learning course is the first interdisciplinary course within the health science schools. Mason’s current research interests in education involve curricular assessment and student satisfaction. Her primary clinical research and practice interest is in the care of dialysis patients. She has served as chair of the ACCP Nephrology Pharmacy Practice and Research Network and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the National Kidney Foundation and the American Society of Nephrology. Many of her publications address medication-related issues in patients with kidney disease, including medication reconciliation and optimization in dialysis.
