Information and Action Options for 2017 Immigration Policy Changes

President Trump signed an executive order on January 27, 2017 temporarily suspending all immigration for citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries (Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen) for 90 days.

The new Executive Order will be implemented on March 16, 2017, and entirely replaces the earlier order. The purpose:

Improve the screening and vetting protocols and procedures associated with the visa issuance process and the United States Refugee Admissions Program.
