My field experience has challenged me, pushed me out of my comfort zone and boosted my confidence as a rising professional. The best (and also scariest!) part of my field experience were the number of opportunities I had. I practiced policy analysis, qualitative research, public speaking, wrote formal reports, and much more. My advice to any future MSW student is never turn down an opportunity no matter how much it scares you. It's ok to be scared. There were so many times when my field supervisor would ask me to do a task and I would simply say, "Sure, no problem!" Inside, my heart was racing. I've learned that those moments when I was scared and unsure were the ones where I learned the most. As cheesy as it may sound, my mantra for grad school is be fearless.
