Associate Professor Sandra Momper, the principal investigator in collaboration with American Indian Health and Family Services of Southeast Michigan Inc., received a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to continue work on youth suicide prevention among American Indians aged 10 to 24. This project, entitled “Manidookewigashkibjigan”: Sacred Bundle R.E.S.P.E.C.T., will provide suicide prevention skills training and community-based screenings for suicide risk in Southeast Michigan and on American Indian reservations across Michigan for the next 5 years.
