Assistant Professor, Desmond Patton's research on the relationship between gangs' activity on social media outlets such as Twitter, to violence on the streets is cited in Boston Magazine and USA Today. Patton intends to collaborate with Henry Lieberman, Principal Research Scientist at the MIT Media Lab to map his findings on gang violence and social media to determine the rate at which gang/community violence is occurring.
Jerrica Delaney, is the recipient of a celebrated scholarship given annually by the Buffalo Association of Black Social Workers. The association will host its annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner on Saturday, September 28, in Buffalo, New York. She is one of six to be honored for her contributions to the community.

Associate Professor Lydia Li received an award from the National Institute of Mental Health via the University of Rochester for her project designing and implementing and overseeing aging workers' training and functioning as part of the COACH intervention.
