MicroMasters FAQ

  1. Will completing the Social Work: Practice, Policy and Research MicroMasters Certificate reduce the required credits for the MSW Program?

    For students admitted into the MicroMasters MSW program the MSW course enrollment requirement will be reduced from 60 to 45 credit hours. MicroMasters MSW students will also be required to complete a comprehensive evaluation before entering the MSW program.

  2. Will other schools accept Social Work: Practice, Policy and Research MicroMasters course credit?

    The MicroMasters courses were developed with the specific curricula of the University of Michigan to accelerate students through the MSW program, and other schools are not obligated to count these courses for transfer or graduate credit.  Students will need to contact the individual school for this determination. Each individual program and/or school will make decisions on whether or not a student may receive credit for the MicroMasters coursework at their school.

  3. Will Social Work MicroMasters courses count toward an MSW at the University of Michigan School of Social Work?

    Students with three years or more of human services experience are eligible to apply for the Social Work MicroMasters MSW program. Students approved for participation in this program will be required to complete the following:
