Maureen Slattery is a gynecologist who specializes in sexual medicine and menopause care. She received her MD from Albany Medical College. She then completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Rochester and subsequently has over 20 years of clinical experience. She earned her post graduate Certificate in Sex Counseling and Education from the University of Michigan and is an AASECT certified Sex Counselor.
Dr. Slattery is passionate about sex education and has a special interest in educating medical professionals about all aspects of sex and sexuality. She designed a sexual health lecture series for the local OBGYN residents and regularly teaches this topic. Additionally, she is a Lecturer for "Sexual Health: Beyond the Basics" which is a non-clinical pilot elective for medical students at the University of Michigan. Dr. Slattery is often used as an expert for the AARP's weekly sexual health column "In the Mood" which addresses sexual health and relationship issues for people over age 50.
