Born in St. Augustine, Florida to Dorothy Louise Spellers and Earl McMillan. Grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. One of twelve children, (three deceased siblings), mother of three adult children, and grandmother to three beautiful children.

Master of Science Degree, Varying Exceptionalities, Nova Southeastern University, 2001. Doctorate Degree, Instructional Leadership, Nova Southeastern University, 2019.

Current job/position: ESE Teacher/Local Education Agency (LEA) with Volusia County School District. Teacher Leader Facilitator for American Federation of Teachers (AFT). Florida Education Association (FEA) Curriculum writer for Teacher Reading Certification Competencies. Volusia United Educators (VUE) Steward and Professional Development Facilitator for Reading and ESOL. Contributor for University of Michigan, Trauma-Informed Programs and Practices for Schools (TIPPS) Modules. Independent Contractor for Tutoring Services. Adjunct Teacher at Daytona State College.
