Wendy L. Sellers, RN, MA, CSE, FASHA is known internationally as the author of Puberty: The Wonder Years, a puberty education curriculum for students in grades 4-6. As a long-time advocate for student health, she has taught thousands of educators how to teach sex education. Wendy advocates for skills-based, comprehensive, sex education that starts early, involves parents, and meets students’ needs. Wendy loves to consult with schools and equip teachers to teach puberty education with resources, professional development, and technical assistance. Wendy was named 2014 National Health Coordinator of the Year by the American School Health Association (ASHA). She served on the ASHA Board of Directors and chaired the Advocacy and Coalitions Committee during 2017-18. ASHA named her a fellow in 2019. The Society of State Leaders of Health and Physical Education honored Wendy with the 2021 Russ Henke Service Award, and she currently serves on the Society Board of Directors. Ms. Sellers completed the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan and is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator.
