Kassandra Luoma is a certified family nurse practitioner at the Beaumont Child & Adolescent Health Center Adams. Kassandra provides primary care to youth in Wayne Westland school district to include: physicals, acute and chronic care,health promotion and is a certified health coach. Upon completion of her Bachelor's in Nursing at Northern Michigan University Kassandra spent six years as a Navy Nurse and served in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. After leaving the military she was a registered nurse in a high risk labor and delivery at the University of Rochester. After completing her Masters in Nursing at the University of Rochester she briefly practiced at Planned Parenthood and then sought adventure in Vermont. At St. Michael's College she provided primary acute and chronic care to students in addition she provided urgent and emergency care to patients of all ages at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans Vermont. Kassandra returned to Michigan and continued working in emergency medicine at Foote Hospital in Jackson and also took on a part time role as a childbirth educator in Ann Arbor. Kassandra found her passion after a brief stint working in the Minute Clinics she took on the role as a nurse practitioner in the South Redford School Based Health Center. Kassandra is deeply committed to motivational interviewing and health coaching and briefly left school based medicine to take a position with Marathon Health out of Vermont and opened up a work place health center inside of Duncan Aviation in Battle Creek, MI. She returned to school based medicine at Beaumont Child and Adolescent Health Center Adams in 2014.
