  5. (Virtual) Mandatory Pre-Field Orientation - Winter 2024 Term

    January 10, 2024 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

    This event is for students starting Field, residential and online, for the Winter 2024 term. This mandatory session will help to provide an overview of what to expect in Field your first term, what is required for a successful grade, and to answer any questions students may have. Please ensure you are attending the correct Field Faculty meeting. If you are unsure of who your Field Faculty is, check your SW 515 canvas site. Please look out for a follow up email in December. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the field office at ssw-fieldoffice@umich.edu

  7. U-M SSW New Field Instructor Training

    January 12, 2024 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

    This is an interactive webinar designed for new field instructors of graduate social work students. The course focuses on field instructors developing skills in facilitating student social work competency development through understanding the role of supervision, reflective supervision, and giving and receiving feedback.

  8. Health Sciences MLK Lecture: Rhythm, Processing, And the Anti-Racist Psychotherapy Perspective

    January 15, 2024 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

    The Health Sciences 34th Annual MLK Celebration is hosted by the School of Social Work! Join us, following Central Campus events, for a keynote lecture by David Archer, MSW, MFT, Psychotherapist on Anti-Racist Psychotherapy and it's applicability to each of the Health Science departments. A reception will follow, and David will be available for book signing during this time.

    The event will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person.

  10. National Day of Racial Healing Dinner

    January 16, 2024 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

    The National Day of Racial Healing – always held the Tuesday after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – centers around experiences rooted in truth-telling, offering people, organizations and communities a day set aside for racial healing, bringing people together to take collective action for a more just and equitable world.
