  1. Teaching Support: Drop-In Instructor Session

    October 25, 2017 - 8:30am to 9:30am

    This fall, the SSW is hosting a regular series of support activities around teaching. These have been designed as a result of requests from faculty. 

    Drop-in instructor sessions. These sessions may have loose topics but will be largely open for instructors to ask questions and give/gain support from peers around teaching. These sessions will be held monthly. A bluejeans call in option will be available.

    These sessions are available to all course instructors. A schedule of dates and events is below.

  2. Licensure for Social Work Professionals

    October 25, 2017 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm

    Michelle Woods, the Director of the Office of Career Services, will discuss the licensure process in Michigan and how to research the rules and regulations for other states.

  3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Children and Adolescents with Anxiety Problems

    October 25, 2017 - 5:00pm to 9:00pm

    The focus of this skill-based mini course is on the concepts, theory, principles and procedures appropriate to
    the assessment and effective cognitive-behavioral therapy of children and adolescents with anxiety problems.
    The course content reflects advanced material of current relevance for effective clinical practice. Specifially,
    this course will provide updated training in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety discorders in children
    and youth.

  4. Navigating the U.S. Job Search (For International Students)

    October 25, 2017 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm

    Do you plan to work in the United States after finishing your degree? This program is designed to help international students maximize their chances of finding employment in this country. We'll discuss interview preparation, resume writing, cross-cultural issues, networking, and ways to identify appropriate opportunities. We'll also provide an overview of immigration regulations pertinent to international students, and Career Center services that are available to you on this campus.
