School of Social Work Spring Commencement 2025
May 3, 2025 - 1:30 PM ET
The School of Social Work Spring Commencement for Social Work students will be held in person at the Power Center and livestreamed on the SSW website. Power Center doors will open for guests and graduates beginning at 12:30pm. All guests must provide proof of registration (from their graduate) to enter the venue.
A light reception will be held in the Power Center Lobby immediately following the commencement ceremony.
Specific instructions and information will be added to this page as commencement approaches. In the meantime, view the School of Social Work Commencement Guide for general commencement information.
Parking: The Fletcher street parking structure located at 201 Fletcher Street will also be open to the public for parking at no charge. The Thayer street parking structure located at 216 S. Mandatory Virtual Pre-Field Orientation Webinar for MSW Students Starting Field in the Spring/Summer 2025 Term
May 6, 2025 - 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET
This event is for students starting Field, residential and online, in the Spring/Summer 2025 term. This mandatory session will help to provide an overview of what to expect in Field your first term, what is required for a successful grade, and to answer any questions students may have. Please ensure you are attending the correct Field Faculty meeting. If you are unsure of who your Field Faculty is, check your SW515 canvas site. Placement Verification Forms (PVFs) Open
May 6, 2025 (all day)
For all students currently enrolled in field.
We recommend that students submit their PVF's by 01/22/25 to allow one week for their Field Instructor to review and submit their portion.
All official field-related notifications are sent to the field instructor's UMich email address. To approve the PVF and eventually the student's Educational Agreement, the Field Instructor(s) must sign in using their uniquname and password.

Michigan Medicine Virtual Information Session for Students Starting Field in the Fall 2025 Term
May 6, 2025 - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET
Field Instructors from Michigan Medicine will join the Office of Field Education to share information about the health system student program and specific placement information during this session.
If you are interested in a Michigan Medicine field placement, please plan to attend. For those unable to attend the live session, a recording will be posted on the Office of Field Education website within a couple of days following the session.
There is no guarantee of a Michigan Medicine placement. As with all other placements, should you not receive a placement at Michigan Medicine, you will work with a field faculty member to explore the next option. You must pursue only one field placement at a time.

Building Healthy, Strong Communities Virtual Conference

Building Healthy, Strong Communities is a professional development program presented by the School of Social Work's Office of Development and Alumni Relations and the Professional Development Committee of the Alumni Board.
