Case studies will be shared how social workers have embedded themselves in local Detroit neighborhoods to accompany transformative movements that are building social justice. Highlighted social work examples will be urban agriculture, restorative justice, faith-based institutions and immigrant rights. The results are a fascinating mixture of surprising profound outcomes, friendships, replicable models of peer intervention, ethical challenges and sustainable social workers journeys.
Lunch will be provided!
