Evaluation Lunch n' Learn Series: Walking the Talk: Ethical Issues in Program Evaluation
March 10, 2015 - 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM ET
Evaluation, different from social work, is not driven by a professional set of standards or code of ethics. Yet, ethics are paramount in evaluation practice. This Evaluation Lunch n' Learn will focus on the information and standards necessary to consider when planning and conducting an evaluation. The focus will be on issues related to privacy and confidentiality; application of the program evaluation standards to address ethical dilemmas while planning and managing evaluations; and the larger questions related to evaluator certification and/or licensure.
Participants in this session should:
Develop a better understanding of the nature of privacy and ethics;
Understand the most frequently encountered ethical challenges which evaluators face and the application of standards to address them; and
Understand the current positions relative to evaluator certification/licensure.
This Evaluation Lunch n' Learn will be facilitated by Brian Dates, MA. Brian is the Director of Evaluation and Research at Southwest Counseling Solutions and current President of the Board of Directors for the Michigan Association for Evaluation.
Feel free to bring your own lunch.
This event is sponsored by the Curtis Center Program Evaluation Group.
