Summer New Student Program Session
August 19, 2013 - 10:15 AM to 3:00 PM ET
The School of Social Work offers incoming MSW students the opportunity to attend an on-campus Summer New Student Program session prior to Fall Orientation to learn more about the School and curriculum, and meet other incoming students. Attending students will also have the opportunity to speak with current MSW students and ask questions. Spaces in the New Student Program sessions are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. An email will be sent out in early May to all incoming students to let them know when they are eligible to register for a session.

Fall 2013 Community Service Day #6: UMHS Child Care Center
August 27, 2013 - 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM ET
Sign up for one of the Community Service Day sites by calling the Office of Student Services at (734) 936-0961 by August 16th, 2013. Sites will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
This event will depart from the School of Social Work at the time listed. Transportation will be provided.
Organization Mission: The mission of the Child Care Center is to provide quality early childhood care for the children of parents working at the University of Michigan Health System. The program is designed to meet the needs of infant, toddler, and preschool children in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. The Center's goal is to strengthen the bridge between UM employees' work and family life by creating a special place that supports them both.
Project Description: Volunteers will work with the early childhood program for children ages birth through five. At the site there will be a variety of projects including cleaning, organizing, and playing with kids! Water will be provided.
