Global Lens Photo Exhibition
November 5, 2024 to November 27, 2024
The Office of Global Activities is thrilled to announce that we are hosting a 2024 Global Lens Reflective Photo Exhibition and submissions are now open! The OGA is looking for photographs that are high quality, follow ethical practices, and tell a story about an international experience. This is an event that will ignite your imagination and leave you inspired!
Members of the SSW community are invited to submit a photo that captures an experience that took place in a different country between September 2023 - October 2024. Participants are also welcome to submit a photo of an experience in the U.S. as your international experience if you call a different country home (i.e. international students, visiting scholars, etc.). This opportunity is open to all SSW students, staff, and faculty.
Photos that meet the exhibition guidelines will be printed and displayed in the School of Social Work on the first floor windows (across from the Office of Student Services) from November 18-27, as a part of International Education Week.
All entries for the SSW Global Lens Exhibition must be submitted no later than Sunday, November 10 at 11:59 PM EST.

Community Conversation: Post Election Reflections & Finding our Path Forward
November 6, 2024 - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET
The election is just around the corner! We may or may not know the outcome by the day after the election, but no matter where things stand, we anticipate that people may want to come together to talk.
Election results can bring out a full range of emotions. We invite participants to share their feelings and experiences while fostering empathy and understanding. We’ll also explore how we can move forward, and find healing and common ground in our professions and communities, no matter the outcome. This is a time for open dialogue – to express feelings, raise concerns, and find support as a community.
About the FormatWith these smaller Community Conversations, our goal is to create a restorative space where we can share experiences and learn from one another. The discussion will be guided by practices from intergroup dialogue and restorative justice.
We look forward to seeing you there! -

November 10, 2024 - 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET
The purpose of the Electoral Wellness (Civic Engagement & Mental/Emotional Wellbeing) series is to invite the SSW DEI community into an ongoing conversation about power and hope during the Fall 2024 election cycle in a way that is meant to build trust and self-awareness.
