  3. Flash Mob for Social Change

    January 16, 2020 - 11:55 AM ET

    Clinical Associate Professor Abigail Eiler is coordinating a flash mob to dance to a brief clip from Common’s song “Glory,” which was used in the film “Selma.” “Social change happens in many different forums,” says Eiler. “Art is a way to embrace different methods and encourage wide participation.” To participate, please watch this video of the dance moves and send Eiler an email to be put on the mailing list.

  5. Grief Counseling Principles and Practice

    January 16, 2020 - 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM ET

    This course is designed to deepen knowledge and skills in grief counseling to work effectively with a diverse range of bereaved individuals. Theoretical underpinnings of grief and loss counseling and contexts in which counseling may occur will be explored. Developing specific grief assessment and intervention skills applicable to a range of clients across the lifespan and different types of loss will be the focus of the course.

  6. CASC Undergraduate Minor Student Organization Grant Deadline

    January 17, 2020 - 5:00 PM ET

    The CASC Minor Student organization grant provides funding for declared students engaged in social justice and social action programs, initiatives, and projects. If you are a member of a student organization seeking funding for materials, supplies, space, food, or other related expenses, apply online using the CASC Minor Funding Form.

    The deadline for this grant cycle to apply is Friday, January 17th.

  9. ENGAGE + CASC: Youth Organizing & Empowerment

    January 21, 2020 - 5:00 PM ET

    Youth have the ability to lead and galvanize social and political movements for change. Both through their understanding of the importance of social media and use of technology, to their involvement in communities, and power to connect and drive their peers, youth are especially positioned to be great drivers of social change. Join us for a special joint discussion with CASC featuring local youth leaders and change-makers, as they discuss the impact of their work and the movements they are leading. CASC alumni working in youth organizing will be featured along with other panelists TBA.

    Attending this session counts for field credit. Please document your attendance and contact your field faculty supervisor for information.

  10. Field Placement Verification Due

    January 22, 2020 - 5:00 PM ET

    All students currently enrolled in field (SW515 or SW691) must turn in the Field Placement Verification form by this deadline. This form is considered complete after your Field Instructor signs off on it.

    This form only applies to students currently registered for field.
