Field Instruction Events

  1. SSW and DPSS Personal Safety Lecture »

    June 19, 2019 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

    In partnership with the Division of Public Safety & Security, the Office of Field Instruction is sponsoring an introductory lecture to personal safety and self defense.  Our presenters from DPSS will be Candace Dorsey, Empowerment Self Defense Manager, and Sergeant Gary Hicks.  

    Description: "Our self-defense workshop takes a holistic approach to self-protection, emphasizing awareness and assertiveness skills as well as physical and verbal strategies to counter violence. The goal is to leave you better equipped to deal with everything from harassment to potentially violent people to sexual assault." 

    Information will be presented in a lecture format, and further resources will be given for students who wish to follow up with a self defense course through DPSS.  

    Food will be provided!  Students may arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 for food; the lecture will begin at 5:30.

  4. Field Education Agreement – TAB 3 Due »

    August 2, 2019 - 5:00pm

    For all students currently enrolled in field, TAB 3 must be completed and submitted.

    The Educational Agreement Evaluation process begins with the student completing their portion of TAB 3.  This includes the documentation of field credits, total clock hours, the completion of the Key Learning Experience/Project, and clicking the approval button at the bottom of the page.  This allows the Field Instructor two weeks to review and complete their steps.

  6. Final Field Educational Agreement Due »

    August 19, 2019 - 5:00pm

    For all students currently enrolled in field, the Final Educational Agreement is due to the Office of Field Instruction.

    The Educational Agreement is not considered complete until the student completes and submits their End of Term (Tab 3), and the Field Instructor rates the student's Practice Behaviors in Assignments (Tab 2), completes, and approves Tab 3. The Field Instructor is responsible to submit the completed document by the due date.

  7. Required Advanced Pre-Field Orientation for Advanced Standing, Transfer and Students Exempt from Foundation Field ONLY »

    August 28, 2019 - 8:00am to 11:00am

    REQUIRED Pre-field orientation workshop (field credit given) for all incoming advanced field instruction (SW691) students with Fall 2019 placement start (advanced standing, transfer, and foundation exempt students)

  9. SW 531 Foundation Field Seminar »

    September 10, 2019 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

    First day of class for students enrolled in SW 531.

  10. Field Placement Verification Due »

    September 11, 2019 - 5:00pm

    All students currently enrolled in field (SW515 or SW691) must turn in the Field Placement Verification form by this deadline. This form is considered complete after your Field Instructor signs off on it.

    This form only applies to students currently registered for field.
