SSW Faculty Digital Storytelling Workshop to Share the Value of Our Work

Want to create a 2-3 minute video about the work you do, the reasons you do it, or how it makes a difference?

Come, join your colleagues in a two-day workshop (June 25-26) to craft your compelling story, to learn about the work happening in SSW, and complete a short personal video that communicates the value of the work you do.

The workshop goals are to: (1) build a sense of community among faculty members, (2) produce a short film highlighting – through personal story – one impactful experience or insight or driving reason underpinning the work you do, and (3) to discover synergies, perspectives and shared commitments with each other.

Hands-on activities will include expressive writing and talking activities, a story circle, script writing, voiceover recording, and digitally editing a cut of a digital story. The workshop will end with a screening, where everyone’s digital stories are screened, and we have time to discuss them with one another as a group. The digital storytelling examples can be found here.

This workshop is made possible with support from: Curtis Center, SSW-Associate Dean for Research, SSW-Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Strategic Initiatives
