Behavioral healthcare integration essential for chronic disease management. Mental health and substance abuse issues exacerbate global public health issues, including increased mortality and morbidity rates, lack of access to health care and impact on individuals overall functioning.
This presentation identifies how advancing behavioral health integration into the global response to chronic health conditions can improve health care treatment engagement and retention leading into improved health outcomes. Variables preventing the use of a universal approach for integrated care interventions will be explained. The presenter will explore various reason why treatment gaps exist in integrating effective behavioral health around the world. Lastly, Factors impacting global mental health will be examined from micro and macro level.
