Reach Out, Raise Hope, Change Society A Cantata in Ten Movements

Join us as we kick off the School of Social Work Centennial Celebration with the original recording of the November 18, 2011, performance at the U-M Walgreen Drama Center. The recording will be followed by a Q&A with the composer and a panel discussion on social work and the arts.

The Cantata was originally commissioned with a special gift by Joan and Allan Fisch to the School of Social Work to celebrate its ninetieth anniversary.

  • Welcome & Introduction from Ken Fisher, President Emeritus of the University Musical Society of the University of Michigan
  • Remarks from Lynn Videka, Dean and Carol T. Mowbray Collegiate Professor of Social Work, University of Michigan School of Social Work
  • Introduction of the cantata from Composer Bruce Adolphe along with Jeff Janeczko, Curator of the Milken Archive of Jewish Music

  • Panel Discussion moderated by Larry Gant, Diversity Equity and Inclusion Program Director, Professor of Social Work, University of Michigan School of Social Work
