The School of Social Work’s ENGAGE Team is hosting virtual discussions for students and the Michigan Social Work community on engaging and assisting during the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion on April 9 showcases the emergency response work of MSW student and Pastor of the Historic King Solomon Baptist Church in Detroit, Charles E. Williams II. Williams shared other community engagement opportunities in Detroit. The Office of Field Education also will provide guidelines on receiving field credit for volunteer work, and Dominique Crump, MSW '19 will guide students through a meditation and discussion on the importance of self-care.

Note; if you are an MSW student, the hours you volunteer may be counted towards your field hour requirements. Check with your field faculty member and have your volunteer opportunity approved in advance as a supplemental field experience activity.
