8:15-10:00 | Presentation: “What Makes a Safe Beginner?” The course is geared to engage field instructors in discussions, role plays, & share information regarding student field training. University/school requirements & expectations are discussed along with a session on "what makes a safe beginner" related to assessing student abilities about when & where students can begin to function more independently & with more complex cases/issues. |

12:45-1:45 | Presentation:“Understanding and Applying the ADA in Field Instruction” Participants will be able to access UM resources for students with disabilities and gain increased awareness of ADA guidelines to understand provisions of reasonable accommodations to ensure students with disabilities have the same opportunities as other students. |
1:45-3:15 | Presentation: "Affecting Change & Improving Outcomes: Utilizing Technology to Enhance Competency-based Learning in Field Instruction" The focus of this course is to prepare and equip the participants in utilizing technology to assist them in the development of educationally sound field-based assignments that help prepare our field students in becoming proficient with the required social work competencies. Participants will learn how to access and use the online Educational Agreement which acts as the contract for field placement. |
