| Course Description: | Law 817 - Disability Law This seminar will address a wide range of issues that arise in the representation of clients with disabilities and will examine evolving public policies affecting persons with disabilities. Substantive areas that will be covered include civil rights, education, housing, reproductive rights, education, guardianship, health care and criminal justice. Ethical considerations of the practitioner in the representation of clients with disabilities will also be explored. Students will discuss how public disability policy is both reflected by the law and responds to legal challenges. An in-class presentation and a paper are required. |
