Margaret E. Erickson

Margaret has been with the School of Social Work since August 2000. She was the Program Coordinator for the Hartford Geriatric Social Work Program and assumed part-time responsibilities as a Field Educator and Liaison in the Office of Field Instruction until August 2004 when she joined the staff full-time. Margaret's responsibilities include facilitating placements for Geriatric Fellows and placements for students interested in early childhood mental health.

In addition to her work in the School of Social Work, Margaret has a small part-time practice at Packard Community Clinic in Ann Arbor. She has previously held positions as a mental health professional at H.A.V.E.N. in Pontiac, Michigan working with sexually abused children and their families, and as a child and adolescent outpatient therapist and infant mental health therapist at Huron Valley Child Guidance Clinic, the child and adolescent clinic for Washtenaw County Community Support and Treatment Services. Prior to becoming a social worker, Margaret worked as a registered nurse for 25 years. She has held staff nursing positions in schools, in hospitals, in an outpatient medical center and at Hawthorn Center, a residential psychiatric hospital for children.
