She is currently the PI on a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid grant to examine uses of information technology to provide consultative services for women and children in rural Michigan; and to link academic child psychiatrists to primary care physicians in Kalamazoo, Grand Traverse and Crawford Counties. Collaborative relationships with numerous primary care and community mental health sites throughout the state are now established. Her investigative team has developed an IT platform for collection of information from PCP’s throughout the state (Michigan Depression Outcomes and Collaborative Care), a network of CMH collaborators, and infrastructure for expansion of telepsychiatric services in northern counties. They have developed a program to provide remote telepsychiatric supervision to clinicians throughout the state providing behavioral treatments to autistic youth. She has worked on several NIH-funded research projects including a project to examine the impact of treatments in pregnancy and postpartum and impact on maternal and child outcomes. She served as a co-investigator on a large NIH trial (STAR*D) to understand pharmacologic and therapeutic outcomes in depression management. She has published in areas including integration of psychiatric/obstetric care, electronic medical records, depressive disorders in pregnancy, and screening in primary care and obstetric settings.
