Yes, Social Work Essentials MSW and MasterTrack MSW students may submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid to apply for federal loans for the terms that they are enrolled at the University of Michigan in the MSW program.

What are the MSW program fees?

Social Work Essentials MSW and MasterTrack MSW students will have 45 credits remaining for the MSW degree, which is equivalent to 3 semesters of full-time tuition cost. Tuition costs vary based upon whether a student is a Michigan resident or non-resident. Tuition estimates can be found here.

Yes, Social Work Essentials MSW and MasterTrack MSW students may apply and participate in any special scholarship program available for their program if they meet special program criteria.

No, the certificate programs do not require a field placement (practicum). Students will be required to engage in a field placement once enrolled in the MSW degree program and the Office of Field Education will assist in setting up a placement.

Yes! There are a lot of jobs that look for knowledge/training offered by the MasterTrack or Social Work Essentials. These positions may look like: case workers, advocates, coordinators, etc. Keep in mind that the MasterTrack Certificate and Social Work Essentials Certificate are not equivalent to an MSW degree.

Can the Online MSW degree be completed Full-time?

The online degree is offered as a part-time program. A full-time option will be available beginning fall 2023.
