Building Healthy, Strong Communities is a professional development program presented by the School of Social Work's Office of Development and Alumni Relations and the Professional Development Committee of the Alumni Board. This is a train-the-trainer series for school professionals interested in becoming facilitators of the Trauma-Informed Programs & Practices for Schools (TIPPS) approach. TIPPS is a research-based model intended to lessen the effects of trauma and promote safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environments for all students. Strategies and resources offered in this series will cover the TIPPS 10 core pillars of a system-change process and allow participants to customize content to address needs of their local settings.

This online session will provide the opportunity to learn more about the University of Michigan School of Social Work MSW program. Topics covered will include: On-Campus Program, Online Program, Curriculum Options, Application Process, Financial Aid, and more!

Undoing Racism is a community collective of students, staff, and faculty in the School of Social Work dedicated to fighting white supremacy at individual, school, and structural levels. This workgroup was established in 2019 after the community took part in the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond Undoing Racism workshops and builds on their anti-racist community organizing model. No matter what role you play here at SSW, you are always welcome to come to Undoing Racism meetings. 

This event will be held virtually over Zoom!
