The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit generously provided funding for the Sol Drachler Program Fund for Jewish Communal Leadership. Today, the funding has been used to support the work of the School’s Sol Drachler Chair in Social Work, held by Dr. Karla Goldman.
In 2010, Karla began directing JCLP, which consists of advising and teaching students within the program. Karla has been incredibly successful in cultivating strong relationships with the Samuel and Jean Frankel Center for Judaic Studies at U-M, which supports the Judaic Studies aspects of our students’ work.
Karla’s leadership has brought success in the growth and refinement of the program. JCLP has elaborated upon and expanded efforts of community engagement through public programs, weekly seminars, and opportunities beyond the classroom for students.
