International MSW and MSIL applicants may apply for scholarship (merit) aid from the School of Social Work, which can be utilized toward certifying that adequate funds are available*. For most scholarships, submission of the Financial Aid Application for Grant/Scholarships from School of Social Work Resources is sufficient.
International students applying to the MSW program also may be interested in applying to a special program. The special programs below require separate application and are for MSW students only. Some donor-funded scholarship applications are available for MSW students, with many of the applications available each August. Only MSW students, accepted and planning to begin the program in the fall or a continuing MSW student, are eligible to apply. International students that are currently enrolled in the MSW or MSIL program are eligible to apply for the U-M International Center Emergency Fund, which provides financial support for unusual or unforeseen emergency expenses that greatly impact students' lives and their ability to progress at the university. More information about this fund, the application process, and the expenses that can be covered by it can be found on the International Center's website.
