The Jewish Communal Leadership Program (JCLP) is an in-person special program offered within the School of Social Work (SSW) in which students complete Judaic Studies coursework to receive a certificate in Jewish Communal Leadership in addition to their Master’s of Social Work (MSW) requirements. In partnership with the Jean and Samuel Frankel Center for Judaic Studies, this scholarship program affords students the opportunity to connect deeply with the Jewish community of Ann Arbor as they pursue their MSW. Over the demanding five-semester, twenty-consecutive-month program, students develop advocacy skills, gain invaluable leadership experience, and cultivate a wide support network through alumni and community outreach. Students additionally coordinate public programming, facilitating conversations between students, faculty, and Michiganders more broadly.
Students will…
- Receive a Master's in Social Work from the nation’s #1-ranked School of Social Work.
- Receive a Certificate in Jewish Communal Leadership from the Jean and Samuel Frankel Center for Judaic Studies.
- Benefit from significant tuition support in addition to need-based financial aid and potential merit awards.
- Join an in-person cohort of inspiring young professionals invested in collaborative community growth and the planning of inclusive public programming.
