• As a part of the field application process, the Office of Field Education has posted the Hospital Based Placements Info Session video. This video must be viewed before the Q&A Session mentioned below. This informational video discusses medical vs. psychiatry placements, macro placements, student-training programs, and specific application processes for individual healthcare systems.

Join us for an information session to learn about the Winter 2027 term Global Course Extension based in Cuernavaca, Mexico!

This program is led by U-M SSW faculty members and accepted students earn elective SSW credit. This winter's course will involve travel in Mexico during Spring Break. Read more about Global Course Extension model on the Office of Global Activities website.

Students must submit their Placement Verification Forms by Tuesday 9/15/26.

This allows sufficient time for field instructors/task supervisors to make edits and/or approve PVFs by Tuesday 9/22/26.

This is a requirement to pass SW515/ SW691.

Laughter is medicine. Join us for an evening of stand-up comedy paired with honest conversation about mental wellness and healing in our communities.

Hosted by Horace "HB" Sanders and featuring comedians Mike Bonner and Mic Larry, this Comedy Edition of Before the Crash Out brings people together to talk openly about mental health in a space built for joy, not stigma.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Undoing Racism is a community collective of students, staff, and faculty in the School of Social Work dedicated to fighting white supremacy at individual, school, and structural levels. This workgroup was established in 2019 after the community took part in the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond Undoing Racism workshops and builds on their anti-racist community organizing model. No matter what role you play here at SSW, you are always welcome to come to Undoing Racism meetings. 

This event will be held virtually over Zoom!

The Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management and the Office of Global Activities are pleased to host incoming and second-year international students, Global Activities Scholars Program students, Master’s International Volunteer Program students, Coverdell Fellows, and Global Social Work Practice Pathway students and faculty for an informal dinner. This event will be a chance to get to know fellow students and members of the SSW community who have an interest in global social work.
