Personal storytelling has always been a critical tool in our fight for LGBTQ+ equality, whether talking to family members, classmates, co-workers, or elected officials. Now more than ever, we need to refocus on the basics of telling our stories in ways that bridge misunderstanding and help to shift the narrative about who we are. This training does just that. Voices for Equality is a 1.5-hour, in-person workshop that empowers LGBTQ+ advocates and allies to change hearts and minds through the power of personal storytelling. This training connects lived experiences to a broader movement for equality—building empathy, shifting public opinion about LGBTQ+ identities and experiences, and strengthening community leadership. Participants will: Learn impactful storytelling tools to effectively communicate their lived experiences. Build confidence in sharing powerful, authentic stories that resonate. Develop and align shared narratives to shift public perception and foster understanding. Strengthen collective action in support of the Human Rights Campaign’s mission for LGBTQ+ equality.
