Does the Sexual Health Certificate Program certify me as a sex therapist?
No. You receive a certificate at the end of the program, not a certification. You can use the education hours from the program toward certification through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
Do I need to send original undergraduate and graduate transcripts for the Sexual Health Certificate Program, or are copies sufficient?
Electronic copies may be submitted with your application. If we have any concerns, you may be asked to submit an official transcript from your institution.
Do I have to apply online to the Sexual Health Certificate Program?
Yes, we only accept applications online.
Do I come to campus for all Sexual Health Certificate Program courses?
No. The program currently includes live interactive online courses, and portions of courses that include self-directed online learning.
What is the application deadline for the Sexual Health Certificate Program?
There isn't a formal application deadline. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants will be considered until the program fills. After the program fills, applicants will be added to a waitlist and may be asked to consider enrolling in the subsequent year's cohort.
Are continuing education contact hours available in disciplines other than social work for this program?

Are applications for the Sexual Health certificate reviewed on a rolling basis?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Prospective participants are encouraged to submit their application as early as possible, because the program often fills several months before the cohort start date.
I have never taken a hybrid course before. What is a hybrid course?
This hybrid certificate program combines pre-recorded videos that you view and work through at your own pace, as well as live interactive sessions, in which you will learn with the instructor and other participants by Zoom. Reading materials and study aids will be located on a course website that you can access throughout the program.
Will recordings for this continuing education program be available for download?
Recorded content is only available to stream during the program.
What if I need to cancel prior to the start of the certificate program? What is the refund policy?
Notification of cancellation must be received by email two weeks prior to the first certificate session to obtain a refund ($50.00 administrative fee will be retained). Refunds after that date will not be made, though you may transfer your paid registration to another individual prior to the start of the program.
