This course is taught by various members of the program faculty. Each version of the course has its own subtitle, some being offered one time only while others are repeated and may evolve into regular courses with their own course number and title.
This course is to provide students with an in-depth exposure to China’s traditional welfare system and the emerging models of professional social work. Students will engage in various learning activities at the School of Social Work, including assigned readings on Chinese culture, traditional and contemporary delivery of social services. Student will then participate in an arrange trip to Beijing, China. On this trip, students will attend various workshops and talks as part of a joint collaboration between the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work and Tsinghua University’s Department of Public Administration.
