This course presents advanced topics in interpersonal practice. The topics may include emerging practice methods, advanced application of methods covered in other required methods courses, and applications of methods in specific populations.

Learning objectives for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Panic Disorder

  1. Understand the basic principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy OCD and panic disorder
  2. Learn how to conduct cognitive-behavioral therapy for OCD
  3. Learn how to conduct cognitive-behavioral therapy for panic disorder

Brief course description:

This mini-course focuses on the practical application of cognitive-behavioral therapy for OCD and panic disorders. The course will focus on exposure and response prevention, behavioral exposure therapy for internal and external panic cues, and cognitive restructuring. Cognitive-behavioral assessment methods will be infused throughout the course. The course will include class demonstrations and role-plays, session videotapes and interactive classroom instruction.
