Fall 2026 Thanksgiving Break - No class or field

We strongly recommend that students submit their EA to their Field Instructor/Task Supervisor by Friday 12/04/26 to allow sufficient time for their feedback and submission. This is accounting for the upcoming days off.

The earliest students can submit their final F26 EA is on Tuesday 12/1/26. EAs will not be accepted prior to this date.

The final F26 EAs are due on Friday 12/11/26.

Join us for an information session to learn about the Spring/Summer 2027 term Global Course Extension based in Cape Town, South Africa!

Grounds for Flourishing is a monthly coffee hour and community dialogue space hosted by the Flourish Office. Join SSW students, staff, and faculty for coffee, tea, snacks, and informal connection, followed by an optional facilitated Community Conversation. Come as you are and choose the level of engagement that feels right for you.

Undoing Racism is a community collective of students, staff, and faculty in the School of Social Work dedicated to fighting white supremacy at individual, school, and structural levels. This workgroup was established in 2019 after the community took part in the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond Undoing Racism workshops and builds on their anti-racist community organizing model. No matter what role you play here at SSW, you are always welcome to come to Undoing Racism meetings. 

This event will be held virtually over Zoom!

The School of Social Work Winter Commencement for Master of Social Work students will be held in person at Hill Auditorium and livestreamed on the SSW website. Hill Auditorium doors will open for guests and graduates beginning at 12 Noon.

A light reception will be held in the Michigan League Ballroom immediately following commencement.

The School of Social Work Spring Commencement for Master of Social Work, Master of Social Impact Leadership, and Social Work PhD students will be held in person at the Power Center and livestreamed on the SSW website. A light reception will be held in the Power Center Lobby (tentative) immediately following commencement.

MSW, MSIL, and PhD graduates may enter the graduate robing area starting at 12:30PM. Note that graduates (only) should plan to enter the Power Center-Rehearsal Hall from the upper level of the parking ramp door.
