We invite you to a Community Conversation on Potential cuts to Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Insurance and how it may impact Michigan Medicine Patients

You’re invited to join an open Community Conversation centered on the many changes happening in health insurance coverage today and how it may impact our Michigan community. As one of the state’s largest insurers, changes to coverage, reimbursement, or network participation could significantly affect access to care, continuity of treatment, and financial stability for individuals and families, particularly those already facing structural inequities. Beyond Michigan, this conversation situates these potential changes within a larger landscape, where changes in leadership and policy decisions continue to reshape the accessibility and affordability of health insurance. From debates over public program funding to increasing privatization pressures, these changes reflect a broader reconfiguration of the U.S. healthcare system. We hope that in having this conversation we can better understand the implications of these changes on policy and the people we serve.

About the format

With these smaller Community Conversations, our hope is to explore restorative dialogue and build community, creating a space where we are all teachers and learners. We will draw heavily on practices from intergroup dialogue and restorative justice.
