Description
About Mind the Movement:
Mind the Movement is a new nonpartisan nonprofit organization that will provide subsidized mental health care to three constituencies: unemployed campaign staff, underemployed/uninsured grassroots organizers and fired federal workers. Our pilot program launches in 2025 in VA, AZ and MI with emergency support for federal workers in D.C. and Maryland.
About the Opportunity:
We’re looking for someone scrappy, thoughtful and excited to be a part of a brand new organization that is providing care to three underserved populations. We want to work with someone who is okay with things not being perfect yet, and who will bring ideas and recommendations to the table to help make things better. If you’re thinking of one day running your own practice or leading a program - this would be the right experience for you.
We’re kind, empathic and strategic and are looking for a fellow who will be able to work collaboratively with a very small and mostly volunteer led team.
Mind the Movement seeks either a masters student, current mental health practitioner or trauma informed coach able to serve as part-time Mental Health Fellow. In this role, fellows review applications, send “award letters” to funding recipients and are responsible for having initial onboarding conversations with recipients.
The main responsibility of a Fellow is to ensure funding recipients are onboarded to Mind the Movement and supporting them in finding a mental health practitioner. You will also be trained to address mental health emergencies identified in any applications or during onboarding calls.
You will not be treating clients directly, but will be meeting face to face with mental health funding recipients.
Flexible work hours during the week, up to 10 hours per week. Start date: ASAP - late January 2025.
As a brand new organization, we’re able to offer a $500 per month stipend but also welcome professionals able to volunteer their time consistently from November - January.
How to Apply:

Future Opportunities:
We will also be offering virtual and in-person support groups and will be seeking facilitators. If either of those options are of interest, please fill in this short form so we can follow-up: https://forms.gle/FtzXaTWXDd5tFikW8
